Iran Reports Attack on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.

Plumes of black smoke were seen rising above an area adjacent to the central command of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
