The individual smiles as he points the recording device on his own face and his fellow combatants, their RSF insignia visible: "They will all be killed like this."

These individuals are celebrating a massacre that humanitarian officials believe killed over thousands of individuals in the Sudanese metropolis of al-Fashir last month.

An Urban Center Cut Off from the World

Following their control of the city under siege for nearly 24 months, from the summer the paramilitary force moved to reinforce its dominance and prevent access for the remaining civilian population.

Space-based imagery show that troops began to construct a massive berm - a raised dirt embankment - around the boundaries of the city, sealing off entry points and blocking aid.

During the encirclement escalated, seventy-eight individuals were murdered in an militia attack on a religious building on mid-September, while the UN reported fifty-three more were killed in aerial and artillery attacks on a displacement camp in fall.

Disturbing Recording Depicts Defenseless Individuals Gunned Down

By sunrise on October 26th the RSF conquered the final army strongholds and seized the main headquarters in the urban area, the main facility of the Army Division, as the military pulled back.

One of the most graphic recordings to surface and studied depicted the aftermath of a massacre at a university building on the west of the city, where numerous dead bodies were seen spread throughout the area.

An elderly person wearing a white tunic sat isolated amid the corpses. The man rotated to glance as a fighter equipped with a weapon walked down the steps facing the individual. pointing his firearm, the shooter discharged a single shot at the man, who collapsed to the surface lifeless.

"For what reason is this individual even living," a militiaman shouted. "Shoot him."

Satellite images taken on late October indicated to confirm that executions were furthermore performed on the streets of the city, based on a study issued by the university analysis team.

Militia Officers Attempt to Implement Damage Control

Content presenting its militiamen providing assistance to civilians were disseminated by some accounts, while the force's media office published multiple recordings allegedly to show the compassionate treatment of army detainees.

Despite the social media effort being employed by the paramilitary, their actions in al-Fashir have generated global outrage.
