Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad after the uproar from his recent interview.

What Happened

Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and stating his relationship with manager had soured.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”

The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

Moving Forward

Jones insisted that the team's response was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.

The midfielder also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.

“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
