The Former President's Policies Present a Risk to Civilized Society.

His national and international initiatives – ranging from the attempted coup in the past to recent moves and threats – undermine both national and global jurisprudence. But that’s not all.

They jeopardize the very concept of what we mean by.

A guiding principle of any advanced culture is to forestall the dominant from attacking and exploiting the weaker. Failing that, we could find ourselves locked in a brutish war where might makes right could survive.

This ideal is embedded of America’s founding documents. It’s also the heart of the postwar international order championed by the America, which stresses multilateralism, democracy, individual liberties, and the rule of law.

However, it is a delicate principle, easily violated by those who choose to misuse their authority. Preserving it necessitates that the powerful have enough integrity to abstain from seeking temporary advantages, and that society ensure they answer for their actions if they don't.

Unchecked strength does not make right. It leads to turmoil, disruption, and hostilities.

Every time people or corporations or countries that are richer and more powerful prey upon those that are weaker, the fabric of our shared norms unravels. If such aggression are not contained, the fabric unravels. Allowing it to persist, the world can fall into disorder and conflict. History provides ample precedent.

Our current reality is a international landscape grown vastly more unequal. Influence and wealth are held by fewer hands than in recent memory. This invites the elite to leverage their position against the disadvantaged because they perceive themselves as omnipotent.

The wealth of certain tycoons is staggering. The power of major corporations in technology, energy, and aerospace covers numerous countries. AI is could centralize economic and political clout to a greater degree. The military might of the leading countries is unmatched in human history.

Enabled by complicit legislators and a pliant judicial body, the highest office has been transformed into the supreme and answerable-to-none agent of state power in history.

Put it all together and you perceive the looming crisis.

A clear connection ties previous breaches of norms to present-day menaces. Each were based on the overconfidence of invincibility.

You see much the same in international affairs: in territorial invasions, in expansive ambitions, and in the global depredation by powerful corporate entities.

However, raw power does not establish right. It fosters uncertainty, upended order, and bloodshed.

The lessons of the past reveal that frameworks designed to check the influential also shield them. Absent these limits, their endless appetite for greater influence and riches in time lead to their downfall – along with their enterprises, countries, or domains. And pave the way for world war.

This blatant contempt for legal order will haunt America and the global community – and the very idea of civilized conduct – for years to come.
