Tributes Pour In for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

More than two weeks after the tragic deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt able to express about his profound loss.

"Enough time has gone by that I can finally put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began spending more time together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, remarking that he could not remember "one day without laughter".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a different essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles judge ruled to bar the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.

A court order issued a security hold on the investigation to restrict the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the result of homicide, with a record noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

After the killings, public figures expressed divergent reactions.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making provocative remarks that were met with immediate backlash by several public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the detractors last week. Speaking on his show, Rogan labeled the remarks as "shocking" and remarked they showed a worrisome deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an aide could have stepped in when the decision to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
